Family Days out in Derbyshire - Travel


Millions of us will be heading to Derbyshire and the Peak District this year for our family holidays this year. When on a family holiday its always important to have a busy itinerary as the last thing you want is bored and feed up children on your hands, yet in this beautiful part of the country who should avoid boredom altogether as there is just so many things to see and do.

Chatsworth Farmyard & Adventure PlaygroundThe farmyard is very popular with young children and families thanks to the wide number of animals available to see. Older children love running around the woods and playing on the fantastic adventure playground.

Matlock Bath Aquarium & ExhibitionsThe Victorian Thermal Baths in Matlock have been transformed into an under water wonderland with aquarium containing British and tropical fish from all over the world. Abraham Heights Abraham Heights is one of the oldest and most popular attractions in all of Derbyshire and the Peak District having opened its doors in 1780. To reach Abraham Heights visitors can take the alpine style cable car which rises from the valley floor and offers stunning views of the Derwent Valley. Once at the top there are a number of things to see and do with over 60 acres of woodland and wildlife to explore as well as shops, restaurants, children's play area and stunning caverns that beg to be entered.

ConkersConkers is an award winning attraction found in the heart of the National Forest. Conkers has a number of attractions including a simulated tree top walk; interactive exhibitions, assault course, adventure play ground and plenty more fun things for the whole family.

Go ApePractice your best Tarzan impression as you swing through the trees, traverse rope bridges and slide down zip wires. If you don't feel like tackling the course yourself you can watch from the forest floor as your loved ones take to the trees. This attraction is only suitable for children over 10 years of age.

Gulliver'sGulliver's boasts over 40 rides aimed for children between 2 & 13 years, with Dora the explorer, Diego and Gully Mouse all on hand to make a magical experience. During their stay children can take part in some great Dora and Diego themed challenges while enjoying all the many different rides and attractions on offer.
