Matlock, Derbyshire was once known for being a spa town. That was many years ago and any hydropathic establishments that made the town popular have since been closed. These days Matlock is known for music and art. Many up and coming artist travel to Matlock each year to perform in the live performing arts festival. This festival grows in popularity each year.If you are interested in museums you will love the three museums in Matlock. At the Peak District Mining Museum you can even have a real mining experience. There is also the National Tramway Museum if you are interested in the National Tramway. Crich Tramway Village is a historic village along with a tramway museum.Matlock Fark Park is a favorite tourist attraction and your family is sure to enjoy it. There are many things to do for all ages so the entire family will find something they enjoy. You can see and interact with many animals on the farm. There is even a playground area that the kids will love and if that is not enough to keep them happy then I'm sure the go kart track will be.The young people in the area as well as the visitors will love the recently renovated River Derwent area. There is a skate park for the kids to enjoy as well as playgrounds and boating areas. All of which are connected by walking paths. Adults will find that the area is just as much fun for them as well.When you take a vacation as a family it can be difficult to find things that everyone can enjoy because of age differences. This is not a problem in Matlock. There is plenty to do for children and adults of all ages. The accommodations are amazing as well as the transportation.
